Talent Board Welcomes New Board Member, Shaker’s Executive Vice President Joseph P. Murphy

Murphy Brings Passion for Helping Employers Transform Recruiting Processes and Optimize Candidate Experience to Talent Board

SAN FRANCISCO, CA–(Marketwired – Aug 1, 2016) – Talent Board, a non-profit organization focused on the promotion and data benchmark research of a quality candidate experience, today announced the addition of new board member, Joseph P. Murphy, executive vice president of Shaker. In addition, Shaker will serve as a Global Platinum sponsor of the 2016 Candidate Experience (CandE) Awards, supporting its programs in the North American, EMEA and APAC regions.

“Through his work with Shaker, Joe has helped countless organizations improve their recruiting practices through simulation-based assessment practices and objective candidate evaluation. This in turn creates a more engaging, insightful and effective candidate experience, benefitting job seekers and employers alike,” said Gerry Crispin, Talent Board co-founder and CareerXroads principal and co-founder. “Joe is an incredibly valuable addition to Talent Board, being a passionate advocate for evidence-based recruiting practices and a firm understanding of what it takes to create a more candidate-focused experience. We are thrilled to welcome his unique perspectives to our board, and grateful to receive the support of Shaker as well.”

“I have been a long-time student of and advocate for evidence-based practices for the business process called staffing,” said Murphy. “While flow and yield metrics are interesting, performance outcomes and brand experience are critical. It was easy to align with the mission of the Candidate Experience Awards; we began measuring applicant reactions in 2002. Working with the Talent Board is a natural extension of my passion for metrics and assisting organizations on a journey of discovery and positive change.”

A longtime volunteer with Talent Board, Murphy will play a significant role in the CandE Awards programs as a board member. He will lead the design of the research framework and candidate experience survey, by which tens of thousands of candidates from employers participating in the CandE Awards are asked about their experiences. After collecting and analyzing survey responses, leading practices are identified and research findings are published in the CandE Awards annual report.

As a Global Platinum sponsor, Shaker supports Talent Board as the CandE Awards programs continue to expand rapidly. A repeat sponsor of the program, Shaker’s support will help to further extend the programs’ reach and increase participation among employers and candidates, creating valuable candidate experience benchmarks to help companies continually improve the recruiting process.

“Through its Virtual Job Tryout technology, Shaker helps employers enhance their candidate experience, giving candidates a chance to demonstrate their abilities, test drive the job and learn about the position demands and company culture,” said Elaine Orler, co-founder and chairman of Talent Board and CEO of Talent Function. “Given this shared mission of raising awareness of the candidate experience, we are pleased to welcome back Shaker as a sponsor of the CandE Awards and look forward to working together once again.”
